CANCELED: "Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving"

Thank you, all, for your patience while we’ve been determining whether to proceed with a July 18 trip to see the exhibition, Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving. This was a rescheduling of a trip originally planned for April 25.

Though Governor Newsom has declared that museums can now reopen, every county in California has different circumstances based on population, density, and how prevalent COVID-19 has been. As of this day, the de Young has not made any indication of when they will be able to reopen. There is also considerable concern on our part about having our guests travel in a confined bus for 2½ hours each way, and without the ability to social distance effectively. Additionally, a small number of ticket purchasers withdrew earlier following our prior bus trip update on March 25.

Consequently, and regrettably, we have decided to cancel this year’s bus trip. As the trip was meant to be a fundraiser for the Museum, we hope you will consider converting your ticket purchase into a fully tax-deductible donation. Should you choose to do so, please contact the Museum via phone or email by Friday, June 26. If we do not hear from you by then, we will begin to return checks by mail. For those who paid in cash, please contact us to make arrangements for the return of your payment. Whatever you decide, we are so very grateful for your support of the Grace Hudson Museum.
