Acorn Day!

  • Grace Hudson Museum & Sun House 431 South Main Street Ukiah, CA 95482 USA (map)

On this day we celebrate oak trees and acorns. From 11am-12:30pm, Martina Morgan, an artist featured in our current exhibition Gathering Time: Pomo Art During the Pandemic will share about the process of making acorn mush, a traditional Pomo food. From 12pm-2pm, see how Bonnie Lockhart, a painter who is also in Gathering Time, uses oak leaves as part of her painting process. You can create your own painting to take home using this process!

All activities are included with Museum admission. Admission is always FREE for Native Americans and Active Military. No reservations are required.
