Oakland Museum of California Curator Drew Johnson gives a virtual illustrated talk on the life and artistry of Dorothea Lange, one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century. The Oakland Museum has a large collection of Lange imagery as well as the artist’s personal archive. Click Dorothea Lange Digital Archive to check out some of their holdings. In 1935, Lange photographed fieldworkers in the Coachella Valley, putting her in close proximity to Mecca and Susie Keef Smith.
